Advanced Email Marketing Tactics You Must Know

Advanced Email Marketing Tactics You Must Know

If you have a sign up box on your website that invites people to sign up for your email newsletter, congratulations — you’re a step ahead of many other businesses who are not doing any email marketing at all.

But email marketing is so much more than that.

First of all, you need to make a compelling offer to get people to give you their email addresses. With the flood of SPAM and the overall increase in email volumes, it’s more important than ever to make sure you set yourself apart from the crowd. Why should someone sign up for your newsletter unless there is some value in it for them?

One of the strategies to increase your email sign-ups is to offer an ebook. Now before you worry about writing “War and Peace” consider that an eBook can be 5 pages. This is assuming you know your audience and are giving them something of value that they want.

For example, a local bike shop we designed a website for wanted to increase their profitable triathlon business using email marketing. To target that segment of their business, we created a 30-page “Triathlon Guide To the State of New Jersey” (where they are based) that was culled from several online sources. Using all public domain information and listings, the guide included a simple list of all the triathlon races across the state, along with the type of course, the month it was held and information about where to register.

We turned the document into a PDF file and uploaded it to the website along with a graphic we designed that looked like a little magazine cover with the title on it. We invited anyone who wanted the free triathlon guide to provide their name and address and the eBook would be sent automatically using an autoresponder.

The bike shop is now sending out targeted email newsletters featuring discounts on triathlon gear, reviews, nutrition, training tips, etc., to an audience that volunteered to be marketed to. How much more effective is that than taking out a passive newspaper or Yellow Page ad?

Speaking of print ads, the bike shop is taking the idea a step further and actually advertising the free triathlon book in all their print advertising with the deliberate strategy of getting people to sign up for the newsletter and voluntarily enter their marketing funnel!

Remember: email marketing, when done properly, allows you to own your own marketing rather than renting an audience from someone else.

How to Make Money Online Fast With Affiliate Marketing

How to Make Money Online Fast With Affiliate Marketing

One of the main problems new affiliate marketers face is information overload. Because there is so much information coming at us every day through our inboxes, it is easy to become distracted and get swept up in the next big product launch.

(7) Affiliate Marketing Power Tips:

1. Determine your outcome before you begin. Know your outcome specifically and write it down. Map out your plan in detail.

2. Only promote hot products that are selling already. It is no use promoting products that no one is searching for. Promote products that are already in very high demand. Aim to take a slice of the pie that is really there for the taking. Don’t chase imaginary pies.

3. Know the numbers. Know how much affiliate commission you will receive for every sale. Write down how many sales you intend (or aim) to make and exactly how you intend getting the traffic to achieve those sales.

4. If you are buying traffic with AdWords or other PPC alternatives, determine the maximum you can afford to pay per click to be profitable and stay beneath that amount. Always test carefully first. You need to have at least 200 visitors to your page to get valid test data. Begin by working on getting one sale every 200 clicks.

5. Be different and creative in your reviews or presells. Aim to present a fresh angle of a product that other marketers don’t seem to be noticing. Your angle may be the angle that encourages the potential buyer to buy.

6. Don’t follow too many ‘gurus’. Model yourself on one or two successful people and do what they do. Adopt their drivers – remain focused and measure your results. Have one or two mentors at the very maximum.

7. Build your own email list. Always give yourself a chance to capture names and email addresses before you send a visitor to a merchant’s sales page – entice them with a valuable gift, perhaps a free exclusive 3 to 5 page report you have written. Give yourself a chance to be able to offer subscribers (your subscribers) great products again in the future.

Should You Use Twitter for Your Business?

Should You Use Twitter for Your Business?

We recently did a survey of small business owners and we found that their least favorite marketing tool was Twitter.

Twitter is an odd bird, pun intended.

A lot of people who use Twitter aren’t sure what to make of it and those that don’t use it aren’t sure how to join in or if they should join in.

Twitter is a lot like drinking water from a fire hose —- the stream of data that goes rushing by can seem daunting and outright confusing.

So I’m not going to tell you in this brief video HOW to use Twitter. That’s best left for another entire article.

WHO SHOULD USE TWITTER?

What I will tell you is this: If you’re a B to B company and you’re not using LinkedIn, I would definitely use LinkedIn before using Twitter. And if you’re a B to C company and you’re not using Facebook, I would certainly do that before getting involved with Twitter.

Because if you are using Facebook and LinkedIn consistently they both have easy to use apps that can connect your accounts so that your LinkedIn and Facebook posts will post automatically to Twitter. But again, how to use Twitter is another story for another time. Just know, right now, that it CAN be done.

But maybe you’re already using LinkedIn and Facebook and you’re even dabbling with Twitter, too.

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF TWITTER

Here’s the bottom line: if you’re using Twitter to send tweets about your business, make sure some of the tweets link to your own site. It’s not good to constantly tweet about yourself.

Share relevant industry news in addition to info about your business. Mix it up. The reason tweeting can help your website is that the search engines, like Google, now give more value to sites that have, what’s called, “social media signals.”

IT’S ALL ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA SIGNALS

Social media signals can be from Twitter, Google Plus, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

Links coming and going from Twitter in and out from your site are indications to the search engines that your site is relevant and engaging, and will be given preference in the search engine results pages over sites that do NOT have social media activity.

And the reason Twitter can help your search engine rankings is because it’s like sending traffic and backlinks to your own site.

It shows activity and engagement with other users and the Internet at large. And regardless of what you think of it, Google, Yahoo and Bing are now all giving more credence to sites with social media activity.

So it’s more about, what Google wants, Google gets! Give Google what it wants to get what you want — better search engine results.

TWO THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND ABOUT USING TWITTER

So two things to keep in mind to maximize your Twitter experience: make sure you follow other relevant people, companies and entities. Following them will often get you return follows. Not always, of course, but more likely.

Once you have hundreds or even thousands of followers they will read your tweets and, more importantly, click through to your content.

Secondly, use a third party tool like Hootsuite or Tweetdeck to post your tweets. The reason? you can preschedule them in advance to go out several times a day for a week if you wanted, plus, most importantly, they offer stats and reporting to show you which tweets of yours were clicked on, retweeted, favorited, etc.

This will help you understand what type of content people are interested in reading and where you should devote your attention.

And one last tip: don’t follow more people than follow you. It’s considered a negative to follow a thousand people with only 100 followers of your own. For example, as you get up into the hundreds of followers, let’s say 500, don’t follow more than 450.

So hopefully that answered the question, or at least gave you some food for thought: should you use Twitter for your business.

Thanks for reading.

Why Is Video Content Now So Valuable For Marketing?

Why Is Video Content Now So Valuable For Marketing?

In today’s fast-paced world in which we live, it is crucial to find inventive and unique ways to ensure your product or service stands out among the ever-increasing level of competition. Using video content is one of the most solid forms of marketing and has a history that can be traced through the past decades. It remains one of the most powerful and effective pieces to a successful marketing strategy. With the technological advances in both video production and the internet, the limits are extended on a seemingly daily basis. With the influx of viral videos, avant-garde and niche advertising, it’s difficult to see why one shouldn’t use video marketing.

Video marketing doesn’t need to be a time-consuming endeavour. It is a safe assumption to make that people would prefer to watch a 2-minute video over a 30-minute video that can deliver the same information. Short, punchy and memorable video marketing can take your brand from the unknown to the known if done correctly. More and more marketing leaders are advocating that marketing content should be at least half of all marketing options put towards a brand.

Statistics from Marketing Week revealed that in 2012, 70% of the top 100 search results in Google were videos. With this finding and potential, by utilising video marketing, you can boost your viewing numbers greatly via ranking in search engine results. This provides you a stronger platform for your marketing video to be seen and heard. Furthermore, if you have a well-executed and timeless promotional video as part of your video marketing strategy, you can use that video for years to come and that will gain more exposure over time. This is particularly true if you manage to create a video that goes viral. It is important to point out that viral videos tend to happen when the efforts are organic and not forced.

Video marketing also allows a marketing team to educate, inspire and entertain all in one package. An interesting market research by MarketingCharts.com showed that 60% of consumers would watch a video for a minimum of two minutes if it provides information and educates them on the purchase they are intending to make. This is a great way to produce demonstrations or real-life reviews of how your product or services works, thus allowing your customer base to learn about your product in a fun environment with an inspiring tagline to help them see why they should choose your product or service over the rest.

One of the strongest advantages of video marketing is that it helps you reach a wide net of consumers (think millions) in a very short period without spending your entire marketing budget. With the help of a cost-effective, inventive and reputable video production company, you can produce unique, inspiring videos to effectively sell your product or service. This not only helps you reach your base audience faster, but it also allows your customers to push that content for you by sharing your video on social media. Additionally, the innovative technology that a video production company can bring you has become much more affordable as the video technology has become more available to the public. This will help you save on your budget but ensure you receive the quality and expertise assistance.

The benefits of using video marketing are numerous and the list advocating its use grows more each year. To be successful in today’s brutal competitive market, you must stand out and video marketing ensures you hit numerous messaging targets at once in a tech-savvy way to comply with ever-growing internet advances and technological tweaks. By making video marketing a priority for your marketing strategy, you will set yourself up for success for years to come.

Traditional Direct Marketing vs Permission Based Marketing

Traditional Direct Marketing vs Permission Based Marketing

When Seth Godin, acclaimed author of “Permission Marketing” declared that traditional advertising, in which he included direct marketing, just isn’t as effective as it used to be he set a train of thought in motion that was to rock the direct marketing landscape forever.

Then and Now

Before we take a look at what has come out of this school of thought let’s take a closer look at the concept of traditional direct marketing:

Its characteristics include unsolicited offers, a disregard for privacy, low conversion rates and general consumer apathy. Sending messages directly to customers by employing methods like telemarketing, direct mail and email was just the way things were done but as time wore on consumers started to grow disillusioned with the enormous amounts of spam/junk mail they we receiving. It is for this reason that most, previously acceptable, direct marketing tactics are being made illegal across the globe.

The move today is towards what has become termed, Permission Based Marketing. Built on features which include consumer commitment, one to one targeting, transparency and high conversion rates this opt-in form of marketing is definitely proving its worth.

Permission Based Marketing

Consumers are savvy, fiercely protective of their personal information, weary of the overload of information available to them and time starved to say the very least. So, how does permission based marketing fit into this fast changing landscape? Take a look at permission based marketing’s main features to gain a deeper insight into why this form of marketing is so much more relevant today that direct marketing can be.

Opting-In

In the times of traditional direct marketing the key phrase was “opt-out”. With permission based marketing [http://winnow.co.za/FAQ.aspx] it is all about opting-in. In direct marketing the communication is unsolicited and often unwelcome which is why response rates tend to be so low. The cornerstone to permission based marketing is that customers give their explicit consent to receive communication before it is sent to them. A customer that has requested to receive your information is far more valuable than one that has no interest in what you are marketing. “The first rule of permission marketing is that it’s based on selfishness.”

“Consumers will grant a company permission to communicate only if they know what’s in it for them.” If a customer is going to give you access to their personal (and highly guarded information) you’d better be able to offer them something that another company can’t. Customers are most likely to participate because there is something highly desirable in it for them: ideal product match, perfect service solution, enhanced service, better price … a change for the better.

Committed Consumers

Consumer commitment is a key feature of permission based marketing, customers are not just simply being exposed to messages they are expected to engage. The time investment made by the consumer to provide information about themselves before they even receive any communication is exceptionally valuable as it allows personalised and relevant communication to be delivered to them as well as founds a relationship.

High Conversions

Where as conversion rates tend to be quite low in traditional direct marketing the converse is true for permission based marketing. As the consumer has already actively made the decision to receive information about a product the chance of a conversion is quite high. What’s really great about permission based marketing is that you will already know quite a bit about the customer which will enable you to tailor make offers.

Updated Databases

Thanks to the Internet consumer information can be easily gathered and updated. This allows marketers to personalise each and every offering to what their possible customers are looking for or are interested in at that very moment. If you want insurance you want it now – not in six months time.

Permission based marketing tactics are clearly the way forward in both the minds of consumers and companies across the globe.

What are Mike's plans?

Mike Filsaime has retired from public speaking at this present time to focus more on his business while in the office rather than on the road, but credits much of his success to speaking to so many over 2 years. Product Managers Are Learning The Marketing Power Of One (Database)

Product Managers Are Learning The Marketing Power Of One (Database)

All too often Product Managers fool themselves into thinking that more is better. Yes, sometimes this may be true, but when it comes to keeping track of both customers and product inventory, it turns out that using one database is the key to long term success…

How Things Can Get Out Of Hand

Although we often talk about this problem when it comes to launching new products, it turns out that it can also affect older products – it just sneaks up on them. In both cases, things start out OK and then take a turn for the worse.

When a company starts to sell a product, they always seem to start with an initial sales channel. Your product’s account manager and business development manager will be working hard to make this channel a success. In this modern age in which we are living, it can very well be an e-commerce channel right off the bat. Customers who purchase the product using this channel will provide the company with a great deal of information about themselves. This information will then be stored in the e-commerce channel’s systems and databases. This all seems like a standard part of any product manager’s product manager job description, right?

If the company chooses to expand this channel, for example adding a gift card program, this additional functionality may come with its own database for retaining information about the customers that interact with it. Now things are starting to get out of hand. Throw in some strategic management and you’ll quickly find yourself adding in-store purchase data collection and tracking systems and perhaps an inventory management system and you’ll discover that things have completely gotten out of hand.

Once product and customer information has been spread out among so many different systems, problems can start to show up such as products being out-of-stock but the ordering systems not showing that when customers place an order. Many companies try to overcome the limitations of this type of solution by having people manually type information that is in one system into the other systems; however, even under the best of situations there is a time lag here. That means that your product’s inventory levels can change and your potential customers won’t know about it until after they have placed their orders.

The Power Of One (Database)

So what’s a product manager to do? Good question. It turns out that the solution is easy to recognize, hard to implement. What a product manager needs to do is to move to using one single database to handle all of the information related to their product.

What you should be looking for is a single database that can hold all of the cross-channel sales data along with any inventory data that your company has on your product. By implementing a solution like this, product managers will be able to offer their customers a real-time order management solution along with an improved customer experience.

Once a single database view of your product has been put into place, you’ll be able to do things as a product manager that you were never able to do before. The first thing is that you’ll be able to engage in true cross-channel marketing and selling of your product: you’ll know what’s going on so you’ll be able to tell the correct story to the correct channel.

Next, you’ll be prepared to move into the m-commerce (mobile) space. Making it easier for your customers to both buy your product and check on the status of their orders. Finally, the customer’s buying experience will be improved because company staff will have access to all of the information about both a customer’s order and your product’s inventory that will be needed to answer any questions that come up.

What All Of This Means For You

Product managers know that for a product to be successful, they are going to have to develop multiple channels to sell it. Once this process starts, it can be all too easy to start to create multiple databases that don’t talk to each other.

The problem with this is that once you start to spread important customer and product data across multiple databases, it become almost impossible to get an accurate picture of how your product is doing. Product managers need to take the time and make the effort to consolidate all of these databases into a single database.

This single database will allow them to overcome the cross-channel inventory disparity that can hold back their cross-channel sales efforts. Making the effort will result in the creation of an even more successful product. Now that’s something that you can add to your product manager resume!

Affiliate Programs and Affiliate Marketing is a Challenging Thing To Start Doing – But It Can Work?

Affiliate Programs and Affiliate Marketing is a Challenging Thing To Start Doing – But It Can Work?

Financial freedom. The dream of just about everyone. Heck, it's my dream. I'm going to reach that dream soon enough though. I've discovered the secret. Making money with affiliate programs and internet marketing is not as hard as it sees …

"Would not you love to wake up and see" Payment Received "flooding your inbox?" We hear this statement so many times as we search the internet for ways to make money online. Sometimes they're very convincing and we buy them … not a good idea. Almost all programs like this are a waste of money.

It pains me to say it friends, but there really is no quick fix to making money online or through affiliate marketing. However, it is very very possible to make money online. A LOT of money.

But what do you do? There are so many programs out there trying to sell you information you already know or scam you … what works and what does not … how do I start? How do I generate traffic? What do I promote?

There are endless questions in the world of internet marketing, and really only you can answer them for yourself.

The keys to making money online through affiliate programs or product marketing, is to pick something you're passionate about.

If you choose something you are passionate about, your enthusiasm will bleed right through and people will see it and buy from you.

You also need to learn about SEO (search engine optimization) Google Adwords, Article directories, back links, PR, Alexa Rank, building a web page, affiliate links, clickbank and really endless more things!

However, it can be done. There is simply a large learning curve to overcome. Sit down at your computer and owe to studying it every day. Go to forums and read what the professionals are saying. Research affiliate programs in a niche you are interested in and write about it in articles or in a web page you have.

Once you have something to promote, however, it's not all fun and games. Oh no. In fact, the next part is the hard part …

The most dreaded thing most online marketers face … and fail by … is TRAFFIC.

In order to succeed in the world of affiliate marketing and internet marketing, you need TRAFFIC to your web page or affiliate page. Not just any traffic either. Targeted Traffic. You want people to come to your page who are looking for just what you are selling. This is probably the hardest thing to do, and unfortunately, many beginners take the AdWords route.

They will have their page all set up, and then they'll think "We'll be great! All I need is some people to see it!" So they simply go on over to AdWords, fork over some cash to get some hits, and wait. And wait. And pay. And pay. And wait.

Oh, they'll get hits alright. They'll also empty their wallet … and see no sales. This is almost always the case. People promote their affiliate link directly on AdWords and expect profit. The only thing these poor newbies get is an empty wallet.

Fortunately, there are many things you can do for free to get targeted traffic to your page!

Write articles, like this one here, and point it to your affiliate link!

Post on forums, and have your affiliate program link in your signature!

Make a blog and update it regularly, and advertise your affiliate program link! You can also ad adsense to your blog to make additional money off of it!

Post to classified ads sites!

Post to social networking sites (Digg, Myspace, etc)

There are literally countless ways to receive high quality, targeted traffic that will guarantee sales! It's just a matter of time an dedication …

You can do it if you try! I am! You can too! You can profit with affiliate programs and internet marketing!

Good luck my friend!

Everything You Need To Know About Content Writing And Marketing

Everything You Need To Know About Content Writing And Marketing

If your business and brand have any sort of internet presence, you must know that one of the most important things your audience is looking for is content. Not just any content but relevant, good quality content. As you might have heard, “content is king”. In the current state of the interconnected world, this is not an exaggeration at all.

The importance of good content is apparent if you take a look at any good website. Along with efficient website design, visual treats and easy navigation, it is the content that holds the entire website together. Without this, the website would be incomplete and would attract significantly lower attention even if the other factors are present. If you don’t want your website looking bland and all your hard work to be wasted, invest in a good content developing and marketing strategy.

If you want to make your content better, hiring a professional content writing company is a great idea. They will not only develop relevant and good quality content for you but also make sure that it is marketed in such a way that it catches the attention of your target audience. There are many ways in which content marketing can help your business and enhance your online presence.

Benefits and Importance of Good Content

  • Conveying Your Message: Good content helps to convey your voice and ideas to your target audience. When presented interestingly, this can attract the attention of potential customers and make them more interested in your brand. Content is one of the most trustworthy ways of communicating with your audience.
  • Benefits of Search Engine Optimisation: Although it is not exactly known how search engines “crawl” websites and award a rank, it has been found that good quality content is an important factor. Hence, content can help your site get higher listings.
  • Higher Visitor to Customer Conversions: One of the most important goals of any website is to turn visitors into customers. Content marketing can help this a great deal by convincing visitors to make a purchase. This is possible through cleverly written content.

How is Content Marketing Carried Out?

Although the exact details of content marketing ideas depend on the business in question, there are some features common to all. The various stages of an ideal content marketing plan have been discussed below:

Who are you marketing to? This is one of the most important questions that you must ask at the beginning of developing a marketing plan. Knowing your audience is crucial since this will affect the marketing techniques that you use. Some of the most important things that you must discuss with your content marketing team are who your current customers are, who you are expecting to attract and who your potential future customers are supposed to be. This can be done by carrying out studies, interviews, data analysis etc.

Develop a long-term plan. Once you start paying attention to your content, it is important to have a clear idea of how the marketing plan will progress over time. A professional content marketing team can help you break down the strategy into easy to manage stages, each of which works with the next. The content is tailored to fit each stage.

Create quality content that is relevant to your target audience. Once you have the entire content marketing strategy planned out, it is time for execution. This is one of the most crucial stages as it determines how effective the planning was. There are two important things that you must remember when content is being created. The content must be relevant and of high quality and it must be posted frequently. A professional digital marketing company will help you strike the right balance. You will also need to promote your content on social media and other websites to get as much attention as you can.

How To Write Autoresponder Emails

How To Write Autoresponder Emails

Autoresponder emails are basically marketing emails that are automatically sent out on a predetermined schedule. Someone who joins your subscriber list today gets the same first email in a series as someone who joined your list last week.

These messages can be educational, market your products or promote products or services from other businesses.

Your First Message

When using email marketing, relationship building is very important. Generally people need to get to know you before they’ll buy something from you. Write a series emails to guide and inform your email subscriber. It typically takes about 7 to 10 messages before a person will commit to making a purchase.

Your first autoresponder email is a welcome email. This is the email people will receive after signing up. If you offered a free download in exchange for their email address, include it in this message.

Next, you might send some information and a soft sell. The next few emails might have a harder, more direct sales message.

Your Autoresponder Schedule

There’s no right or wrong answer as to how frequently you should schedule autoresponder emails to go out. You might want them to be sent more frequently in the beginning when people first join your list. Then, you reduce the emails to one or two a week.

Remember to take into consideration how often you plan to send broadcast emails. A broadcast email is one that you send out to your entire subscriber base, irrespective of when they joined your list. You don’t want to send a deluge of emails that include broadcasts and those that go out in accordance to your autoresponder schedule.

How Many Autoresponder Emails Should You Send?

In your first one or two emails, you want to fire the emotions of your reader and make them see that they really need a solution to their problem. Then, in the following few emails, you can continue to stir those emotions and make a soft sell for a product or services that will solve that problem. Your final email in the sequence can be a more direct sell of the product with a call to action.

This puts the product in front of people multiple times. You’ll get higher conversion rates with this strategy. Test different sequences and different ways of presenting these sequences to see what will work best for your audience.

Fine-tune Your Autoresponder Emails Over Time

Autoresponder emails are very effective because you can load up your sequence and just leave it, letting it provide value to your audience and make sales for you. Remember though to keep your autoresponder emails as evergreen as possible so they’ll always be relevant and you may need to tweak some emails over time to ensure that they are still relevant.

Your E-Marketing Sweet Spot: How To Build an Internet Marketing Strategy That Really Works

Your E-Marketing Sweet Spot: How To Build an Internet Marketing Strategy That Really Works

We are living in the age of the virtual customer. The Internet has become a common medium for researching and buying goods and services. As people spend more of their time on the Internet, the need for online marketing for small businesses continues to grow.

Nowadays, most businesses rely not only on traditional marketing but also on online marketing methods. Many of the traditional marketing methods that worked for local small businesses in years past might not bring in customers or generate profits in today’s social media dominated environment. One of the biggest indicators in this growing trend in local search are the activities on Google maps. Google saw the rapid rise of consumers searching for local businesses online and created the local Google map to accommodate their needs.

Internet Marketing Is Essential for Small Businesses to Succeed

In this competitive world, Internet Marketing is essential for a small business to succeed. It helps small businesses become more competitive and visible in the virtual world. With Internet marketing, small entrepreneurs have a better chance at competing with bigger companies who have traditionally dominated the local markets.

Consider these three major benefits of marketing your business on the Internet:

1. Reach your audience effectively and affordably.

The Internet has become an integral part of the consumer’s shopping practice as more customers are searching online for products and services. Finding customers through print media, direct marketing or live broadcasting can be an expensive and time-consuming process. A small business with an online presence makes it easy for customers to familiarize themselves with the business’s offerings from the comfort of their home or office.

Additionally, Internet marketing is cost-effective compared to the expensive means of marketing and advertising through traditional methods. Most online marketing methods are very affordable, and many cost nothing at all. Those that have higher costs can still have a significant ROI (return on investment) as they are generally “pay for performance” models. This means you only pay when a customer buys or takes some other action.

2. Get 24-Hour Visibility

Another interesting aspect of Internet marketing is giving your small businesses 24-hour visibility. The Internet can keep your marketing campaign running nonstop and reach a wider, even global, audience. Consumers can get information on your products or services no matter what time it is or where they are in the world.

3. Choose from a large variety of ways to market your business.

There are a vast number of options available to you when you are marketing online. You can market through email, blogs, audio, video, social media, online communities, articles and newsletters. Businesses can also utilize search engine optimization; social media marketing, local search optimization, link building, answer sites, press releases, webinars, and on and on.

Choose the Right Internet Marketing Options For Your Business

The success of your Internet marketing program depends on your ability to utilize the power of the Internet. The most important decision you can make is a strategic one and can determine the success or failure of your Internet marketing efforts. That decision is the answer to this question: “What combination of e-marketing activities should I choose for my business?”

In order to have the best opportunity for success, your choice of Internet marketing activities must be based on specific analytical information about your business and your customers.

Consider these important points as you develop your E-Marketing strategy:

  1. Take a good look at your business’s profile. Write down all the facts about your business’s offerings, your physical presence, and your current marketing activities.
  2. Look at your customer profile, your buyer’s demographics and psychographics. Use this information to study your buyers deeply. This will help you to focus on your customers, understand their problems and define messages that explain how your products can help them.
  3. Look at all the options and e-marketing channels that are available to you. Understand how each one might help you position your business so that those looking for what you have to offer can easily find you.
  4. Identify your time and resource constraints. Be realistic about how much time you can commit yourself or your staff to work on your Internet marketing activities. This will help you choose which channels make sense for you to work on.

Your E-Marketing Sweet Spot

Use this information to find what we call your “E-Marketing Sweet Spot.” This is the unique combination of online communication tools that allow you to deliver your message to your customer, and provide the best chance for success.

Whether you’re a small business owner or an entrepreneur, you can build and create a complete e-marketing program for your business. Having a well-thought-out strategy means you have a much better chance of reaping the benefits of a targeted online marketing program.

What An Experiment With ClickBank and LinkShare Taught Me About Affiliate Marketing

What An Experiment With ClickBank and LinkShare Taught Me About Affiliate Marketing

I write articles for a living, but you will rarely see my name on anything I do. Nearly 100% of my articles are published under a different person’s name, on article directories just like this one. I’m fine with that. I get my money, I start the next article, life goes on.

When I first got into this job, I had no idea what the articles were used for. I had just left my job at a call center and knew literally nothing about online marketing or affiliate marketing or anything like that. I still don’t really. But, as I wrote quietly in my shadowed corner, I noticed that a lot of the articles I was assigned had to do with either ClickBank or LinkShare, two affiliate aggregates that bring together a lot of products (in the case of ClickBank) or online retailers (in the case of LinkShare).

The thing about these websites is that there are a lot of people on the internet claiming to have made thousands of dollars weekly by using these affiliate programs. I decided to do a little experiment of my own to see if any of this hype could be trusted (turns out most of it can’t). But, since both sites are free to join or use, I figured I had nothing to lose by trying.

ClickBank

This is the first site I tried. You sign up, and then go to the marketplace area where you can see all the products that are available for you to promote. Let’s say we go into the Cooking, Food, & Wine section. Here you have a list of all the products that fall under this category. The top one is an as seen on TV “Restaurant Secrets” cookbook.

This is accompanied by a little sales pitch from the seller explaining why you, the promoter, should be SO interested in promoting this revolutionary (sarcasm) new cookbook, and oh all the money you’ll make! Ignore that. What matters is the little stats below that, including initial money per sale, average money per sale, some other things, and the grav, or gravity. The gravity of a particular product is a calculation based on the number of affiliates who earned a commission by promoting that product over the past 12 weeks. Higher is better.

So did it work for me? I promoted 4 different products, each with a gravity of 75 and up, the highest reaching 132. I wrote two articles for each one, including the affiliate link, and posted them to various article directories, I’d say it was about 6 directories. My earnings:

First week: $0 Second week: $0 Third week: $36 (!) Fourth week: $9

Was it awesome? Heck no! That’s $45 in a month, which is barely enough to take my girlfriend out for a quasi-nice dinner, almost enough for Red Lobster.

I did learn some things though. First of all, yeah it’s possible to make some money on ClickBank. How much? I don’t know, but consider that I put roughly an hour of work total into writing all of the articles, maybe a half hour submitting them all, and you’re looking at about $30 an hour. More than I could make flipping burgers… for one hour a month. Now let’s look at LinkShare.

LinkShare

This website is for the promotion of retail websites like buy.com. Someone enters the site through your link and makes a purchase, you get a percentage. It’s usually between 5 and 15% from what I saw, depending on the retailer.

To be approved for a retailer’s affiliate program, they have to review your general profile (which you set up when making your LinkShare account) and then let you know, usually between an hour and a day later, if you can promote their stuff. I don’t see why they’re so picky, since you’re giving them free promotion for the most part, but let’s let them have their fun. For what it’s worth, I wasn’t rejected out of the 6 programs I applied for.

You can choose to use text links or banners, which you can paste all over your website, blog, or article databases all you want.

I once again wrote two articles for each retailer I wanted to promote, which turned out to be 3 out of the 6. Laziness is a killer guys. I went through the same routine, which all said and done took about 2 hours this time. Aaaaaand the moment you’ve all been waiting for:

Week 1: $42 Week 2: $76 Week 3: $84 Week 4: $125

Which brings me to a grand total of $327 for the month. I plan to go back to this sometime in the future and try it out some more, but as hard as it is to believe, freelance writing is actually pretty …

How to Improve Customer Acquisition With Digital Marketing

How to Improve Customer Acquisition With Digital Marketing

With the rise of digital technologies, marketing has become less expensive, more effective, and measurable. Online marketing is a promising way of promoting a business and getting new customers and retaining the existing ones. The power of online interaction and diversity in online channels highlight the significance of having a strategically sound customer acquisition strategy.

Social media and other digital channels drive engagement and we know engagement can help businesses acquire new customers and build long-term relationships with them. But how can a business leverage online marketing techniques to attract new customers?

Successful businesses put efforts to meet customer’s expectations. Just imagine a business has an incredible marketing strategy but the products or services it offers are disappointing. Will it be easy for that business to attract a large number of new customers no matter the quality of its marketing efforts? It all starts with delivering great products. Following are some of the suggestions that would help you build an effective customer acquisition strategy for your business using digital tools.

Valuable content

Prospects and customers should be at the center of a marketing strategy. When it comes to the customer acquisition, a business has to create and present valuable content that provides easy and quick solutions to its online visitors. The purpose of building a strong content strategy is to cater the needs of potential customers as well as to keep a certain level of engagement with the existing ones. Content is probably the only way to communicate with people who use the internet to find solutions.

Value proposition

Why does a customer prefer to buy from a specific business when there are plenty of others offering the same thing? A business has to build a realistic statement about why people should choose it. A SWOT analysis would help companies understand their strengths and weaknesses. This is what makes a business unique.

Social media

People spend plenty of time on social media sharing and receiving information. A business needs to figure out the social channels where it can find the most of its potential customers. A solid presence on relevant social media channels enables a brand to engage with its prospects and customers. Again, it is the content that helps a brand build an effective social media presence.

Search engine marketing

Paid search or search engine marketing is one of the most effective digital marketing techniques to get new customers. However, marketers have to be considerate in building paid search campaigns. Once executed in the right way, paid search can instantly drive new leads. If a marketer truly understands how to optimize paid search campaigns for better ROI, he can consistently bring in a great number of qualified leads.

Mobile optimization

It may seem superfluous to repeat that businesses have to optimize their web experiences for mobile in order to stay competitive. A large number of people use mobile devices to buy different products and services. Therefore, it is inevitable to build responsive business websites in order to attract new customers.

Precisely speaking, build great products and present them well on the internet. Digital marketing is all about how well you present your business to the online world and then how effectively you interact with your prospects and customers.

Direct Mail and Direct Mail Marketing for NPDES Programs

Direct Mail and Direct Mail Marketing for NPDES Programs

The National Pollution Discharge Elimination System provides that each large corporation, new development, city, county and state agency have a plan to prevent pollution into storm drains. But this is often not enough because private citizens at their homes also tend to allow debris and chemicals or soaps to flow into the storm drains.

It additionally, there are mobile businesses, which often also pollute and allow things to go into the storm drains; non-point source discharges. To help educate the citizen and businesses it makes sense to use direct mail and direct mail marketing to promote NPDES programs. This will reinforce people’s decision to do something about pollution, but if we do not educate people they will continue to pollute and think it is no big deal.

Consider if you will a person washing their car in their driveway allowing soapy suds to go into the gutter and down into the storm drain. They probably think this is no big deal and one or two people doing this really is not a big deal. But if 20,000 people in a city do this then it is a big deal for the local wildlife which rely on the rivers and streams where the water flows to.

By reminding citizens that is their responsibility to help clean the water and prevent pollution and let them understand the issues regarding The National Pollution Discharge Elimination System and what the EPA is doing to prevent pollution will help reinforce the need of each and every person in our society and civilization. Direct mail marketing works very good for this purpose. I hope you will consider this in 2006.

5 Fundamental Reasons Internet Marketers Fail

5 Fundamental Reasons Internet Marketers Fail

So many people get into Internet Marketing believing it’s an easy way to make money. If you have done any research on the subject, you may have been convinced by all the ‘hype’ out there about making thousands of dollars in a matter of days, weeks or months. In reality, very few are succeeding. Some estimate that 95% of new internet marketing businesses fail within the first 3 months.

WOW! That’s huge. Why? Isn’t it supposed to be easy? Well, it can be – IF you know how. There are any number of reasons people fail in this business, but what are the main things that contribute to the high failure rate? Maybe they don’t have the RECIPE needed to bake the successful Internet Business cake?

1. MAKING OTHER MARKETERS RICH:

Have you seen all those sales pages like ‘How I made $7,698.00 in 3 hours’ etc etc …??? Have you then rushed in and bought the product being promoted, that supposedly ‘tells all’ and will show you exactly how to do it yourself? I would estimate at least 75% of you have done that at least once. Am I right? You bet! Otherwise, the marketers selling those products wouldn’t have made those huge dollars in the first place!

Think about it. If you have bought just one of those products, then YOU are the reason they made that money, along with others just like you. Sadly, in a desperate effort to learn HOW to make money online, you are making other marketers rich!

2. NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW IT REALLY WORKS:

Another reason people fail to make any money or very little, is simply a lack of REAL knowledge. When we buy the ‘How I did it’ products, we may learn a couple of things about how others have done it, but what you don’t learn, are the FUNDAMENTAL things that get the dollars rolling in. There are things that other marketers just don’t teach you. They are selling you a product about ONE TECHNIQUE they are using, not the WHOLE PROCESS.

3. NOT KNOWING WHERE TO START:

Choosing the RIGHT way to begin the journey with internet marketing can be a huge hurdle for a lot of people. The Internet reaches people world-wide, right? So why, with all those potential customers out there, can’t you just put up a website, add lots of valuable content, and get sale after sale? It’s probably because there are literally MILLIONS of other people doing exactly the same thing. Your competition is HUGE. If you want to succeed in this type of market, you NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO START! You need to know HOW to market to such a massive audience. It’s an entirely different mind-set to what you are probably using.

4. INABILITY TO IMPLEMENT THE BASICS:

New internet marketers tend to fall into what I would call ‘Technique Overload’. This is such an easy trap to fall into. With all the information gathering, ebooks and other product purchases, getting overloaded with different techniques that ‘might be’ the next best thing to making millions online, is almost inevitable. When you don’t understand the basic principles to establishing an online business, nothing works like you were told it should. Self doubt begins to creep in, and after spending all your cash on other people’s products, you find that you are getting nowhere. Some will continue to go out and look for the next biggest method to get the dollars rolling in, or become so discouraged that they just give up.

5. TRYING TO GO IT ALONE:

Internet Marketing is usually done from home. The promise being that you can work from home part time or full time and stay close to your family, ditch your job and be your own boss. Have the lifestyle you always wanted etc. All this is true, but…. when you are just starting out, you are on your own! You have to find information that is reliable, find out how others are doing it, get the technical know how to do it, buy the tools and learn the techniques. All by yourself! You don’t learn any of this in school. It’s all totally new and foreign. Other internet marketers could help, but in reality, aren’t they your competition? So, to learn how to do this business is a pretty hit-and-miss affair. Some people are naturals, but most will need help and guidance. Finding a mentor that has your interests at heart and is prepared to help you become successful, needs to be a top priority before anything else happens.

CONCLUSION:

It can be a very rewarding, enjoyable and profitable way to make a living. All we really need is the RIGHT advice, a wholistic approach (not just techniques), a mentor to keep us headed in the RIGHT …

3 Keys To Becoming A Successful Affiliate Marketer

3 Keys To Becoming A Successful Affiliate Marketer

Thousand of people try their hand at affiliate marketing as a way to make a substantial income from home every year, yet only a helpful are ever able to make their online business their primary source of income, and make their dreams of starting an at home business a reality. I have identified 3 areas in which all successful affiliate marketers excel that separate them from the vast number of those who fail at making money online:

1. Patience
2. Willingness to try new ideas
3. Commitment to succeed

I listed patience first because I believe that this is the single most important differentiating factor when it comes to determining your ability to be successful with any internet marketing campaign.

There are a lot of affiliate marketing programs out there that promise to show you how to make life-changing money right away. While the majority of these kinds of programs will provide you with valuable information when it comes to making money online, the fact is that you will not make thousands of dollars per day within your first week of starting your affiliate marketing campaign. It is very easy to get sucked into the get rich quick hype, and when you do not see your bank account over-flowing after a few weeks, start thinking that affiliate marketing is not as great a home business idea as you originally thought.

You need to remember to stay the course, be patient and realize that success does not come overnight. Every online success story starts with someone that continued to believe in themselves and what they were doing. They remained persistent in achieving their goals and did not set unrealistic expectations for themselves.

The second key to success is a willingness to try new ideas. There are many different ways to run an online marketing campaign, and what works for someone else, may not needlessly work for you. As with any sales position, you want to find your personal style that is comfortable and natural for you. You should never limit yourself to just one or two marketing techniques; experiment with a bunch of different ideas and see which ones you enjoy. When you are having fun and enjoying your online business, your potential customers will feel your enthusiasm, and it will translate into converting more sales.

The truth is that there are people out there making hundreds of thousands of dollars every year with affiliate marketing, but this did not happen for them overnight. Like anything else that you desire to be great at, making money online requires commitment, practice and constant learning and improvement. Did Albert Pujols become the greatest baseball player of our generation overnight? Of course not – he spent years refining his skills and techniques to become an expert in his craft.

The same rules apply to affiliate marketing. While it is surely possible to start making money quickly, it will take time for you to hone your skills and begin making life-changing sums of cash from your online business. Making substantial amounts of money online is a real possibility, but you need to set realistic expectations, be willing to try new ideas, and commit to your own success. You will encounter many hurdles on the road towards affiliate marketing success, but if you follow these keys, your dream of earning life-changing money from home will eventually come true.

4 Email Marketing Practices Healthcare Marketers Can Deploy in 2018

4 Email Marketing Practices Healthcare Marketers Can Deploy in 2018

Ripping the benefits of email is possible only when you know how to use it and when to use it. Generic emails sent to all customers on your list gets you nowhere. That’s a fact, and so even in 2018, the significance of personalised and targeted email campaigns will continue to remain for both B2B and B2C industry.

So far, every industry expert has spoken about the tips or guidelines on how to craft a compelling email marketing campaign in different ways and on various platforms. But, only a few have shared the strident reality which many email marketers are unaware of. Email marketing is not just about crafting an email with a catchy subject line, unique content, and an attractive template design. Instead, it’s more about addressing their needs right at the comfort and privacy of their inbox.

Here are four practices that can set your healthcare email campaigns on the right path in 2018.

Think from the Reader’s Point of View

Before ushering your targeted audience’s inbox with high- frequency messages, consider the fact that their inboxes might already be filled with emails from other healthcare providers. It adds to their woe as they are already tired of going through numerous promotional emails during the last couple of months. Take some time and think what if the same happens to you how you would feel? You would get irritated, right?

The same emotions run through your reader’s mind too. Don’t forget that your readers are patients, healthcare professionals, and medical executives. Sending emails quite often may compel your subscribers like physicians, nurses, C-level executives and other medical specialists who are busy in delivering quality care to unsubscribe.

Firstly, give them time to clear their existing brimming inbox and create space for new emails to come in. Delivering messages to the crowded inbox will be of no help to you as your emails will get lost in such an environment. Think and act smart, and at the same time respect your reader’s privacy, time and availability to go through your campaigns. By doing so, you will only end up damaging your brand’s reputation and customer trust.

Offer Value Before You Ask for Business

Of course, you are here to get more visitors for your medical practice or buyers for your medical devices and equipment. But in the name of the business communication, you just can’t stoop low to end up spoiling your brand’s impression among health customers. The rule has been same over the years, and even in 2018, it will continue prevailing but unfortunately only in the mind as its application is hardly seen among healthcare email marketers. The logic is simple before you ask subscribers to buy from you or compel them to sign up for your service or newsletter, give them something valuable that will encourage them to opt for your product. This could be done either by offering a free download of a healthcare whitepaper or a market guide, a discount coupon, free trial or a freebie.

Don’t be too rigorous with your marketing gimmicks as sending too many emails or forcing prospects to subscribe to receive emails from your brand may result in getting your emails marked as spam. Make sure to deliver value to your customers and then expect the same in return.

Build Contextual Content around CTA

Asking too much up front to customers is not a good idea. Just be succinct in your call(s) to action (CTA) and ensure to craft actionable and inspiring email content so that it urges your readers to click on the website link or fill up the inquiry form as a sign of their interest to know more. Remember to build context-based content that resonates with your potential customer’s needs, encouraging them to take action in favor of your healthcare business.

Have your Plan Ready

It may sound too early but often having this thought delays your decision-making process at the time of need. There is nothing wrong to be prepared. As the New Year has already started, keeping email marketing plans ready for the year is indeed a smart move.

However, many medical marketers ignore the importance of having a to-do list in hand from the beginning of the year as they prefer addressing challenges as they come. But in this fast evolving healthcare industry where competition is soaring up every day, waiting for the opportunity to come is not at all a good idea. Marketers need to come out with a robust email strategy to make their presence felt amidst the chaos.

It’s true that one cannot predict things, but in the field of email marketing, your success depends on how well you anticipate the future market trends and be equipped to address them.

Have a check on your last year’s metrics to review …

Why Do Many Internet Marketers Fail?

Why Do Many Internet Marketers Fail?

Many people don’t know it but there are hundreds of people every day that try to succeed with internet marketing but don’t. There are several reasons why people fail at internet marketing; but we will only discuss three reasons why people fail online.

Not following up on your projects is one reason why many people fail at internet marketing. This is something even experienced internet marketers fail to do as well. You need to follow up your projects because you don’t want to put up a website and then forget about it. Let’s say you are making $500 per month from this website, you want to find out how you can double or even triple that income. You shouldn’t go out and build another business when you can improve the one you just made. Many people get involved in different projects and forget about all the websites they have built and you might even see your profits fall. This is why you spend only a few hours a week adding content to your sites or promoting them, whatever can double or triple your income you must do to your website.

Another important reason why people fail online is not treating it as a business. You need to treat this as a business because that is what you are trying to do by helping others and building up your reputation for your niche. Many people fail to do this and instead treat this as a way just to make some money. When you think of internet marketing like this you probably wont be giving value to your customers and you won’t be passionate about what you are trying to teach. I’m not saying you have to be an expert in your niche but having some knowledge does help. If you treat this process as a business I guarantee you will be in a position to make more money and explore more options.

The most important reason why people fail at internet marketing is not building a list. It’s great to get people to buy your products but what if you could continuously sell them your products and affiliate products. By having an email list you will be able to sell to your customers your products and even affiliate products related to your niche. Many people don’t like to buy anything at first but after sending them three or four emails on your product or affiliate product the conversion rate skyrockets. Many people will buy after the fourth and fifth email for that product. This is why making a list is so powerful because these people signed up to your website to get information on the niche you are targeting. These people want you to send them information and will be willing to pay for it. If you have an email list you can sell to them over and over and some people only use an email list to make their money. Every internet marketer should build an email list if they want to be successful at internet marketing.

As you can see these are some reasons why people fail at an online business. There are several other reasons why people fail but these are the most common reasons that I see with failed internet marketers. So if you do everything here you will be able to create a profitable internet marketing business. Good luck with your future business!

What You Need to Know Before Hiring a Web Marketing Agency

What You Need to Know Before Hiring a Web Marketing Agency

Hiring a web marketing agency should be an exciting time for any business. Even if you’ve handled marketing so far, it will make a huge difference to have a professional company take over on your behalf. It allows you to focus on the business end of things and still see improved results. However, that’s the best case scenario. The worst case scenario involves a web marketing agency that proves more trouble than they’re worth and may even set your progress back. So before you hire an agency, here’s what you need to consider.

Your Budget

Whether you’re hiring a web marketing agency or a new receptionist, your budget always needs to be considered first and foremost. When it comes to marketing, see if there’s money you can add to it by giving the agency more jobs to do. For example, if someone has been handling social media for you, updating your blog, sending out email newsletters, etc. these are all things you can have your new agency handle.

Your Needs

At the same time, be sure you’re clear about what you actually need from a web marketing agency. You may not need some of those things I just listed and, therefore, shouldn’t be paying for them. In contrast to the above advice, if you’re confident you’re handling the blog just fine, there’s money to be saved there.

You also don’t want to wind up getting sold on services you don’t need. If your market is a younger one, they may not respond to email newsletters like older clients would. So no matter how well a company claims to do them, they’re not worth wasting a cent on.

Their Own Results

Any web marketing agency out there should count SEO amongst their expertise. So do a Google search for key phrases and see where they land. If they’re not showing up on the first page, and preferably high up on it, what are the chances they’ll know how to do the same for you (it’s possible, of course; marketing agencies are a dense market, but it’s still worth considering).

Their Work

You could perhaps forgive them for not beating out the hundreds of other web marketing agencies competing for Google real estate if they’ve proven they’ve helped others. This is where their resume comes into play. Any web marketing agency worthy of being considered should have a resume that clearly shows what they’ve done for other companies like yours.

However, don’t take their resume at face value. You may have to ask questions like:

• How long did it take you to achieve these results?

• What did you charge?

• Are you still employed by them? If not, why?

They’re a marketing agency, so they know how to sell. That means you’re going to need to use a generous amount of scrutiny to get the answers you need.

The Tools They Use

Marketing online these days means using any of a number of different tools. So any web marketing agencies worthy of your time should be familiar with many and using at least a handful regularly. Not using tools doesn’t mean they’re somehow above the need. Tools like Clickable, Omniture, e-Frontier, and Webtrends all provide huge advantages. Anyone in web marketing who ignores them should raise a huge red flag in your mind.

Performance Guarantees

This component has two factors involved. First, you need to know how an agency plans on measuring their own performance. Put another way, what do they actually plan on providing you-objectively. Their answer needs to be specific as marketing can sometimes needlessly drift into the vague.

The other interesting thing to look out for is how familiar they are with your company and does it come across in their answer? They should be able to explain where they’ll get you in terms of page rank and how that result is affected by your competitors.

Of course, the second part is the guarantee. Their promises don’t mean much if you don’t get any assurances. So be sure they tell you what happens if they miss the mark.

While this may seem like a lot to ask or expect of a web marketing agency you’re only interviewing, I assure you it’s necessary. Otherwise, you could very easily end up paying for a problem.

Branding Company Benefits

Branding Company Benefits

Business large and small should consider hiring a professional branding company. A branding company brings a lot to the table. First and foremost they bring a third party objective point of view that a business is unable to obtain. The old saying holds true, you can’t see the forest through the trees. But how do you choose the right branding company? Ask yourself these questions.

How do they promote themselves? Are they calling themselves an advertising agency that also does branding? If so, they are not a true branding agency. An advertising agency has a hidden agenda, to sell advertising. A branding company does not favor one tactic over another so they should not and would not promote advertising unless it is the right direction to go in. Be careful of these ad agencies that say they do branding. It is much easier to use a buzz word like branding then to actual know how to brand properly.

Are they a web design company that says they do branding? These are the absolute worst offenders of not being a branding company. Ask them simple branding questions like what is positioning or explain the difference between brand identity and brand image. Most will not even know the answer. Then you can ask them a trick question like define brand equity (currently there is no definitive answer). Web design companies are well, web designers. They are not strategic branding experts by any stretch of the imagination.

Are they a marketing company that says the do branding? Be very careful of marketing companies as they are the sneakiest offenders of all. They will talk strategy and integration but they know little about internal branding. They typically promote external branding tactics like direct marketing, logo design, advertising etc. Marketing companies do marketing not branding.

Are they a direct marketing company that says they do branding? Boy oh boy, these companies are so far from true branding they wouldn’t know it if it hit them in the noggin. Direct marketing can be a great tactic but branding it is not. True branding companies only promote direct marketing when the return on investments warrants it. The average return on investment with a direct mail piece is a half to a full percent. Personally I think that is a small return for the investment required which is why direct marketing is typically used as image building with branding companies.

Are they a search engine optimization or internet company that says they do branding? Internet marketing is one of the most effective returns on investment in the business today. Search engine optimization is probably the best single tactic for building brand awareness and sales and is the reason we hired a staff of SEO gurus. But when it comes to branding they will fall very short in planning, strategy, creative and many other areas.

Are they are branding company that really does branding? Unfortunately we have seen a lot of companies call themselves branding agencies but in all reality they are not. So how do you know how to choose the right branding company?

Ask them the following:

What types of services or programs do they have established for internal branding? Internal branding is often overlooked by every other type of company out there. It is a great indicator that you are not really dealing with a true branding company. Sure external branding is exciting and fun but if employees do not buy into it or unaware of it you are going to find yourself in big trouble as well as having wasted tens of thousands of dollars on your external campaign. Look inside yourself and make sure you have set up the right policies and procedures that best leverage your brand identity and positioning. For instance, Volvo the automobile is clearly the safety car company. Their employees should eat breath and sleep safety, safety features, safety technology etc. They should know their brand promise and how it relates to their customers. This is why even though Volvo is probably not the safest car on the road they are perceived to be. Ask ten people what’s the first thing they think of when it comes to Volvo and the answer will be safety.

Once you have confirmed that the branding company does instill internal branding practices then you can move forward with them on strategic direction and planning. Look for companies that only recommend tactics that will obtain the best return on investment and not canned specific tactics like advertising or direct marketing. You want open objective strategies and tactics to move your brand forward which is why choosing the right branding company is so critical.

Uses and Advantages of Product Placement

Uses and Advantages of Product Placement

Product placement marketing is becoming extremely popular today because it offers many advantages to all parties involved. Branded entertainment promotions have helped many companies to significantly improve their bottom line, especially when linked to movies with a high success rate. The information below will highlight some of the uses and advantages of product placement.

First, let take a look at exactly what is branded entertainment.

Branded entertainment, sometimes referred to as product placement marketing, is a strategy that is used to infuse branded products into various forms of entertainment. Basically, brands would offer monetary consideration to or pay for producers of films, television shows, web videos, video games and other forms of entertainment to include their products in entertainment presentations.

The emergence of movie product placement strategy has coincided with the diminishing interests in the traditional advertising mediums. Many companies discovered that consumers were not paying attention to traditional advertising media, so product placement was incorporated in their marketing strategy to reach a wider audience. Marketers reinvented their strategies and started to place advertisements in popular movies and television shows to capture consumer’s attention.

Uses and Advantages of Product Placement

When marketers started to use branded entertainment strategies, increasingly more companies were seen promoting their products in popular movies and television shows. These advertisements can be seen in popular films such as James Bond featuring Omega watches; Mission Impossible featuring Apple Macs; Men In Black promoting Ray Ban glasses and many popular television shows such as The Apprentice, Top Chef, Project Runaway and American Idol.

As of such, the branded entertainment strategy became a magic potion for marketers. Due to the major success of advertising in movies and TV shows, the marketers move on to the next level and started to use web videos, video games, music videos and other entertainment mediums.

Product placement marketing offers several advantages to manufacturers, producers and movie stars. From the perspective of the marketers, it provided companies with an opportunity to be associated with famous actors and to use movie footage and stills to conveniently advertise other products. As it pertains to the producers and actors, they earned substantial amount in fees as well as the chance to endorse brands in various film festivals.

Musicians also benefit from branded entertainment in their music videos and lyrics. Most artists use the earnings from these deals to offset the overall cost of producing their music videos.

The marketers are also using the Internet to incorporate product placements in songs that music fans would get from YouTube. In this case, the main advantage is that brands would develop higher retention rates in people’s minds whenever the artists perform at shows and concerts.

Overall, product placement and branded entertainment strategies have proven to be extremely effective as more consumers are linking certain products to the names of famous actors and singers. For this strategy to work, the brands must be featured prominently whilst making subtly appearance in movies, television shows, web videos or video games.

Network Marketing Tools – 3 Easy Steps to Start Your Blog

Network Marketing Tools – 3 Easy Steps to Start Your Blog

Network marketing tools that will build your business should perform these core functions: capture, manage, and follow-up with leads in some capacity. Creating your own blog is still one of the fastest and most cost-effective ways to handle these tasks online.

What Do You Need To Get Started?

  • A self-hosted, WordPress blog.
  • An optin form.
  • One follow-up message.

Self-Hosted Blog

A self-hosted blog is one where you pay for the hosting fees.

This gives you complete control over your content and any leads that you get.

A major problem with replicated websites is the MLM company owns those leads. If you were to join and promote another company to those prospects, you could face legal action.

Even though you did all the work in finding and making a connection with these people, most mlm network marketing companies have strict policies stating their ownership.

WordPress

I highly recommend WordPress because it’s an easy to install platform-most hosting companies provide quick install options.

Plus there are numerous free plugins- software programs, along the lines of Iphone apps- to help you maximize the capabilities of your blog without you needing to learn programming.

Optin Form

What is an optin form? It’s a form that you can post to your webpages to capture information of people interested (aka leads) in what you have to offer.

Usually network marketers give away a free report as an incentive for visitors to subscribe to their list.

Autoreponder services, a service that processes email on your behalf, is the easiest way to create an optin form. They will provide you with the html code you need to post to your blog to create your form.

Autoresponders house the technology that put your follow-up on autopilot.

One Follow up message

Technically, to get going with building your list, you only need one follow up message.

This is the confirmation email.

Most autoresponder services will set this up for you once you create an account with them. All you’re required to do is fill in any personal details you would like to add to the message.

Once a visitor subscribes to your newsletter, a confirmation message will automatically be sent to them to verify their consent to continue receiving information from you.

At this point, you’re in business. They’re on your list. So even if you aren’t ready to send out a campaign, you have their contact information when you do get your offer together.

These are just the beginning steps to point you in the right direction of creating a lead-capturing blog-one of the best online marketing tools to build your business. Click the links below to find out how attract a year’s worth of leads in a month!
